When you’re choosing a VW, you might not find all the options you want on a VW on the lot. Don’t despair: you can easily order a new VW online. When you choose to design your new VW, you can customize features to get the perfect vehicle for you. As your VW dealer, we want to tell you more about how this process works.

From Your VW Dealer: How To Customize Features on Your New Volkswagen

Designing Your VW at Your Dealer

There are two ways you can design your perfect VW. The first option is to visit your dealer, and one of our team will go through all the design selections with you. You can choose colors, engine options, and numerous other features on the model you want. Once you’ve chosen all your options and are satisfied with your design, we’ll submit your order to VW.

We’ll keep you updated on your car’s progress and advise you as soon as your new car has arrived. We can then arrange delivery to you, or you can visit us to collect your vehicle in person.

Designing your VW Online

You can also design your VW online on the VW website. If you choose this route, you receive online guidance on the options available. When you make a selection, your choices will be added to your order, and the price will be updated. Once you’ve completed your online design, the order will be sent to us, and we’ll contact you to complete the process.

What Can You Customize?

Your customization options depend on the VW model you choose. A VW Jetta, for example, only has one engine type available, a 1.5L Turbo 4-cyl with 158HP. In this option, you can’t choose the engine, but you can choose an automatic or a manual transmission. The trim level you choose will also affect your choices, as higher trim levels include many optional items as standard.

You can choose from a host of optional extras ranging from rubber floor mats to trailer towing packages. Once you’ve completed your design, you can review it and make any changes.

Completing Your Order

After the design process is complete, the next step is to choose the option to lease or buy. If you choose to buy, you have the option for a finance deal or a cash deal. During this stage, you can also provide details of any trade-in you want to add to the deal.

A car can be very personal, as it’s a reflection of who you are. Choosing all its options allows you to get everything you want and leave out anything you don’t need. Contact us today to order your new VW at Crain VW of Fayetteville.

Original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts are parts that are designed specifically by the carmaker themselves. Choosing authentic parts for your Volkswagen carries several benefits over choosing third-party alternatives. Keep reading to learn why you should talk to your VW dealer about ordering OEM parts for your Volkswagen today.

Four Benefits of Getting OEM Parts for Your Volkswagen

1. Higher Quality

Original equipment manufacturer parts are always the best option for your vehicle because they’ve been made by the same company that made your vehicle. There’s a guarantee of quality that just doesn’t come when choosing a third-party or aftermarket part, and it means that your part has gone through the same quality assurance process as the rest of your Volkswagen.

It also means that there won’t be any unexpected issues or side effects associated with your repair. Alternative manufacturers’ parts may not function as intended and could even create brand-new issues that could cost you more money down the road.

2. Warranty and VW Dealer Support

Original equipment manufacturer parts are covered by Volkswagen’s standard warranty for replacement parts, which covers the part for one year or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first. This means that if there’s an unexpected issue for whatever reason, it will be replaced for free under the warranty.

Of course, this means that the replacement part will also be an OEM part from Volkswagen, and that part will also be covered under a new standard warranty that starts when it is installed, giving you additional peace of mind.

3. Easier Selection

Another key reason to consider original Volkswagen parts is that there’s no shopping around that you’ll have to do. With third-party replacement parts, you need to make sure that they are compatible with your vehicle’s make, model, and year, and also ensure that they are of good quality and priced fairly. With a Volkswagen OEM part, the entire process is as simple as picking what you need to be replaced, saving you time and hassle.

4. Maintain Your Vehicle’s Resale Value

The last, but definitely not the least, important reason to consider using these parts is that doing so can help maintain your vehicle’s resale value. Demonstrating that you’ve only used original Volkswagen parts for repairs can help you earn more money when selling or trading in your car for a new one at the dealership or in a private sale because buyers know that original Volkswagen parts are a mark of quality.

Are you in need of repair or maintenance for your Volkswagen, or want to take a look at the Volkswagen 2023 lineup? Give us a call at Crain Volkswagen of Fayetteville today and one of our team members will be happy to set up an appointment for you to come in!

It costs only $3 for a youth, $4 for an adult, and $8 for a family day ticket, and there are additional savings to be made if you buy a bulk package like the punch pass that gives you 10 visits for $35. There is also the option to rent out the whole pool after hours for a private party with up to 400 guests. Also available are Dive-In Movie nights, where you can watch a movie at night while making full use of the pool.

Arkansas Air Museum

Located at 4290 South School Avenue, the Arkansas Air Museum was originally an aircraft hangar that housed planes in 1943. The Hangar was donated to the city in 1944, at which point, Fayetteville Flying Services moved their planes in. It functioned as an operating hangar until it was converted into an aviation museum in 1986. Years later in 2007, the Arkansas Military Museum was built next door until they merged together in 2012.

At the museum, you can get up close and personal with an Aeronica L-3 observation plane and racer planes that date back to before World War II. You can also view 15 military vehicles, including Willy’s Jeep, two half-ton cargo trucks used in Desert Storm, and a WWII II WC-54 Ambulance. Fourteen airplanes are in the process of being restored but remain open to the public. You can also view smaller exhibits like gas masks and WWII German daggers.

These three suggestions are all great examples of a fantastic day out in Fayetteville. Immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the Botanical Gardens, take a refreshing dip at Wilson Park Pool, or visit the fascinating artifacts on display at the Arkansas Air Museum. Your VW dealership wants to help you secure all the benefits of owning a Volkswagen. Read on for more information about one major potential perk: the new extended warranty.

The VW Extended Warranty: Carefree Coverage

Volkswagen’s suite of ownership benefits, known as Carefree Coverage, comes standard with every new VW model purchased. The initial plan includes two years or 20,000 miles of scheduled carefree maintenance, 24/7 roadside assistance, and a four-year or 50,000-mile bumper-to-bumper limited warranty.

If you want expanded protection, however, Volkswagen Drive Easy’s Vehicle Service Protection upgrade is a solid investment.

Warranty Coverage

With a Drive Easy VSP plan, you can potentially extend the aforementioned warranty to 10 years or 150,000 miles. Just as with the limited warranty, this benefit will cover factory defects and many mechanical breakdown failures. Typical wear-and-tear or damage derived from an accident are generally not included in coverage. Specific parts covered will depend on the tier of the plan you choose.

The basic powertrain extension, for example, will pay (minus deductibles) for the repair or replacement of the engine, transmission, drive axle, and hybrid/electric components. The mid-level gold extension adds coverage for electrical and fuel system parts, front and rear suspension, shocks, and climate control. The most robust coverage is under the platinum tier, which also covers steering, brakes, navigation, audio, CV boots, and high-tech components.

Roadside Assistance

Your 24 hours a-day, seven days a week roadside assistance continues under VW Drive Easy. Many commonly needed services are available with this assistance: flat tire fixes, towing, fuel refills, lock-out aid, and battery jumpstarts.

Reimbursements

If your VW is out of commission, the Drive Easy plan may help you pay for expenses you incur. For one, if you need a rental car to get you around, you could be reimbursed as much as $35 a day for up to ten days for your rental costs. Likewise, if your VW breaks down while you’re on vacation at least 100 miles away from your home, you could see up to $200 a day (for five days) of compensation for meals and lodging.

Why Go Extended with a VW Dealership?

VW Drive Easy plans are only available through your local VW dealer. With enhancements like the trip interruption coverage, these plans are among the most generous in the business. Plus, if you trust repairs to the dealer who sold you the warranty, then you might even get to forego your deductible with the disappearing deductible option. Choosing these plans also means you’ll be assured of genuine Volkswagen parts for servicing.

Further, if you sell your vehicle, the plan you choose is transferrable. While many VW models like the Volkswagen GTI boast above-average reliability ratings, you can never forecast when an unexpected issue might arise.

Get peace of mind today. Contact Crain Volkswagen of Fayetteville and drive easier with an extended protection plan suitable for your needs.

Is your car coughing, sputtering, and reacting sluggishly as though it’s caught a dose of the common cold? If it is, you might have a faulty ignition coil on your hands. When you notice any of the following signs of a bad coil, head to your local VW dealer where technicians can clean or replace the malfunctioning ignition coil and nurse your car back to health in no time.

Does Your Volkswagen Have a Faulty Ignition Coil?

Sluggish Acceleration

The combustion process inside each of your engine’s cylinders relies on the ignition coil to supply consistent electrical charges to the spark plug. If a coil has become damaged by age, overheating, vibrations, bad wiring, or something else, it will no longer be providing this steady flow of power.
As a result, the spark plug stops firing properly and at least one cylinder stops powering your car as it should. You’ll soon notice a loss of accelerative power, your engine will feel sluggish, and your gas mileage will also drop.

Misfiring Cylinders

When a spark plug fails to spark consistently because of a bad coil, it begins to misfire. This disrupts the combustion process, causing your engine to cough, sputter, and judder, especially when you first start the engine or rest your car in idle.

Hard Starts and Stalling

If more than one ignition coil is having trouble or one cylinder has stopped working altogether, you might find it hard to start the engine in the morning. You might also find yourself stalling at inopportune moments, such as when navigating heavy traffic or pausing at traffic lights.

Smoke and Backfiring

When misfiring cylinders aren’t promptly resolved, they can soon lead to more serious problems. With misfiring, even though the spark plug is no longer sparking properly, fuel is still being injected into the combustion chambers at the same rate. But this fuel is no longer burning away properly. The resulting excess of unburned fuel starts coating the spark plug and ignition coil in a sooty carbon residue.
The excess fuel may also start to ignite outside of the cylinder’s usual rhythm: it sometimes explodes just as the cylinder is opening, which you’ll hear as loud backfiring. The excess fuel can even start leaking back through the exhaust system, where it might ignite, creating louder backfiring and black smoke to emerge from your car’s tailpipe.

Your VW Dealer Can Clean or Replace a Bad Coil

When your local technician inspects a faulty coil, they’ll decide either to clean or replace it with a new one. If the coil is only fouled by carbon residue but still passes various spark and power tests, it might be recoverable through cleaning. This can often be achieved with a good electronic cleaner product, a little WD-40, and a copper brush.
Have your bad ignition coil examined and cleaned or replaced today at Crain Volkswagen of Fayetteville. We’re the region’s go-to dealership for VW vehicles and maintenance servicing.
