1. Beaver Lake

Located about 35 miles northeast of downtown Fayetteville, Beaver Lake can be reached in a little under one hour by car via route US-412. Public access to the lake is provided by a series of parks and recreational facilities constructed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers around its shores. 2. Lake Fayetteville

Located just six miles north of the city center, Lake Fayetteville is another popular destination among boaters and nature lovers from the region. Constructed in the late 1940s and hosting large populations of catfish, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, bluegill, and other fish species, this place is a magnet for local anglers. Getting here takes about 10 minutes via route US-71.

Some of the amenities you can find along the shores of Lake Fayetteville include a long nature trail that passes through the nearby Botanical Garden of the Ozarks, several public boat launches, picnic tables, a boat rental shop, and a full-service marina. This lake is open to the public throughout the year from sunrise to sunset.

3. Lake Sequoyah Park

A well-known spot for outdoor recreation and water activities, Lake Sequoyah Park consists of approximately 1,400 acres of land and 390 acres of water, offering great opportunities for boaters and anglers. Located just seven miles east of downtown Fayetteville, this public recreation area can be reached in about 15 minutes by car via Huntsville Road. Some of the facilities you will find here include a marina, several boat ramps, picnic spots, and hiking trails.
