Dec 7, 2020

The new 2021 Volkswagen Atlas has undergone a major redesign, and it is now significantly different from its predecessor in some very important ways. Here are some of the most notable features of the 2021 Atlas Crain Volkswagen of Fayetteville Arkansasfacelift that you might be interested in.

1. All-Wheel Drive

All-wheel drive was previously only available with the V-6 model. But you can now get it with the 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that comes standard with the 2021 Atlas, as well as the 3.6-liter V-6 upgraded engine.

2. Longer Exterior

Both the front and rear bumpers have completely new shapes, and they give the new model a very dashing profile.  They’ve also added almost 3 inches to the exterior of the vehicle, which is just enough to improve its profile impressively, without making it any more difficult to drive.

3. Flashier Front End

The new 3-bar grille in front of the 2021 Atlas is far more attractive than the 2020 model. The appearance is now very close to the Cross Sport’s, except for the lower air intakes, which are not quite the same. Also, not only are the new headlights aggressively more angular but LED elements are now standard. Plus, there are now chrome lines spanning the entire width between them, adding a big dose of flash.

4. Updated Car-Net App

New this year for the Atlas is the most up-to-date version of the VW’s amazing mobile app. One of the most astounding things you can do with it is set alerts for when the vehicle exceeds specific speed limits or travels outside set boundaries, which allows owners to monitor other people (such as their kids) driving the vehicle from the comfort of their homes on their phones. But they can also use their phone to:

  • Remote start vehicles
  • Lock and unlock the doors
  • View location of the vehicle
  • Honk the horn
  • Receive maintenance and vehicle-health remotes

5. Upgraded Interior

The seats have updated stitching, and there’s a whole new steering wheel that features Volkswagen’s brand new logo, for a much more luxurious feel.

6. New Advanced Safety Features

While not standard, there are new driver-assist features that are available as options. They include:

  • Road sign display – displays school zones, speed limits, etc. on the dashboard
  • Traffic jam-assist – keeps the car in the center of its lane when traveling less than 37 miles per hour

7. An 8-Inch Touchscreen

This is a beautiful upgrade over the 6.5-inch touchscreen that is standard in the basic model. But it is only available on the SE and SEL models.

8. R-Line Package

Of all the trim levels, the lower grille’s large air intakes on this option gives the 2021 Atlas a unique sporty look. But you also get a glossy black rear diffuser, stylized R badges, and enormous machine-faced 21-inch wheels.

All of the exciting new features on the new 2021 Atlas really need to be seen in person to appreciate what a major difference they make. Swing by Crain Volkswagen of Fayetteville for a test drive, and we will be very happy to make that happen for you.
