Volkswagen is making electric driving easier and more convenient with its all-new, all-electric 2025 ID. Buzz. In partnership with Electrify America, Volkswagen is offering ID. Buzz owners a comprehensive charging plan that ensures a smooth and affordable experience for three years. This collaboration highlights Volkswagen’s commitment to making electric mobility more accessible for everyone. Want to learn all about VW’s EV plans? We at Crain Volkswagen of Fayetteville are here to explain!
A 3-Year Charging Plan for ID. Buzz Owners
Every 2025 ID. Buzz comes with a three-year charging plan, thanks to Volkswagen’s partnership with Electrify America. This plan includes Electrify America’s Pass+ membership, which gives ID. Buzz owners access to discounted charging rates. With this membership, drivers can save about 25% compared to regular pay-as-you-go prices, helping to keep charging costs low.
In addition to discounted rates, the plan also includes 500 kWh of complimentary charging, allowing ID. Buzz drivers to hit the road with confidence. Whether it’s for daily commutes or long road trips, owners can enjoy worry-free charging.
Plug&Charge Technology for Effortless Charging
One of the most exciting features of the 2025 ID. Buzz is its Plug&Charge technology. This feature allows drivers to charge their vehicles without the hassle of using a wallet, smartphone, or bank card. By activating Plug&Charge in the Electrify America mobile app, the charging process becomes fully automatic. All the driver needs to do is plug in the vehicle, and the charging session starts instantly.
This seamless charging experience is a big step toward making electric vehicles more user-friendly. It removes the extra steps involved in charging, letting ID. Buzz owners focus on enjoying their drive instead of worrying about how to pay for their charging sessions. The Plug&Charge feature works across Electrify America’s vast network of more than 970 charging stations, conveniently located along major highways and in cities.

Supporting a Sustainable Future
Volkswagen’s partnership with Electrify America doesn’t just make charging easier—it also supports a greener future. By making it more convenient for people to drive electric vehicles like the ID. Buzz, Volkswagen is encouraging more drivers to choose zero-emission options. This collaboration is a key part of Volkswagen’s strategy to lead the electric vehicle movement in North America.
But Volkswagen’s efforts don’t stop there. The company is also planning to adopt Tesla’s North American Charging Standard (NACS) ports by 2025. This will give Volkswagen EV owners access to Tesla Supercharger stations across the country.
This means that future ID. Buzz drivers will have access to an even larger charging network, making long-distance electric travel easier than ever before.
Volkswagen’s new charging plan for the 2025 ID. Buzz, in partnership with Electrify America, is a significant victory for electric vehicle drivers. With three years of discounted charging, 500 kWh of free charging, and Plug&Charge technology, driving the ID. Buzz is more convenient and affordable than ever. Combined with plans to expand charging access through Tesla’s network, Volkswagen is setting the stage for a more sustainable, zero-emission future where driving electric is easy for everyone.

Plus Speech: The Future of Driving
We at Crain Volkswagen of Fayetteville have a tech update for Volkswagen owners!
Volkswagen recently implemented a ChatGPT-integrated Plus Speech voice assistant in its vehicles. The company’s goal is to simplify and improve the overall driving experience. This new feature allows drivers to interact with their car’s voice assistant, IDA, using natural, hands-free voice commands. The integration is made possible through a collaboration with Cerence, a leader in automotive AI, and its Cerence Chat Pro system.

As of September 6, 2024, this feature is available in select models, including the 2025 Jetta, Jetta GLI, and some 2024 models like the 82-kWh battery ID.4. The addition of ChatGPT expands IDA’s abilities, allowing it to do more than just control basic functions. While it can adjust the cabin’s climate and navigation, it can also now answer general questions, suggest places to eat, or even give travel tips. For example, you could say, “Hi IDA, I’m cold,” and the system will adjust the car’s heating.
What is Plus Speech?
Many Volkswagen models will come with a subscription service called Plus Speech with AI via Volkswagen Car-Net. This tool is how the vehicle connects to ChatGPT. If you already own a compatible ID.4 with this subscription, the ChatGPT functionality will activate automatically. Most 2025 models, such as the ID.4 and ID. Buzz will include three years of Plus Speech with AI for free. Other models, like the GTI, Golf R, and Tiguan, will come with a one-year subscription, while cars like the Jetta and Taos will offer the service as an option. However, ChatGPT will be included with the Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport vehicles starting in 2026.

Your Info is Secure
The system works by connecting to the cloud when it can’t answer a question directly. Cerence Chat Pro uses ChatGPT to understand conversational questions. This provides drivers with a more interactive and enjoyable drive. Volkswagen also makes privacy a top priority. ChatGPT never accesses vehicle data, and any session information is deleted after each use to ensure security.
Drive confidently in your Volkswagen vehicle with IQ.Drive. Click to learn more on our blog.

Available Languages
Volkswagen first introduced this feature at CES 2024, and it is available in five languages: US and UK English, Spanish, Czech, and German. No extra setup is needed—customers can use their existing VW Connect accounts to access the voice assistant. Just say, “Hello IDA,” or press a button on the steering wheel to start using it.
Volkswagen’s integration of ChatGPT shows its commitment to making advanced technology accessible to everyday drivers. By adding ChatGPT, Volkswagen vehicles become smarter and more connected. It also gives users a more personalized and secure driving experience.

Car and Driver
Andrew Wendler‘s review for Car and Driver praised the 2025 Volkswagen Jetta. He called it a reliable, fuel-efficient, and budget-friendly small sedan. Wendler appreciated the car’s roomy cabin and ability to balance ride quality with handling.
“The chassis is tuned more for a quiet and comfortable ride than razor-edge handling,” said Wendler. “In this case, ‘performance’ means a pleasant personality that doesn’t mind stretching its legs when called upon.”
He also gives the Jetta points for its fuel economy and value, especially in the Sport trim.
“While it’s hard to ignore the S model’s bargain price, the Sport trim hits the sweet spot for just a few dollars more,” said Wendler. “We’re pleased to report that previous Jetta models with the automatic exceeded their EPA Highway estimates in our 75-mph fuel-economy route, returning an impressive 42 mpg.”
Wendler notes that though the six-speed manual transmission is limited to the Jetta GLI. However, he still finds it a strong contender in its class, offering a comfortable and practical ride.
“… it’s still a worthy competitor in the shrinking compact sedan segment,” said Wendler.

Kelley Blue Book
Joe Tralongo reviewed the Jetta and Jetta GLI on Kelley Blue Book’s website. He highlighted the 2025 Volkswagen Jetta as an impressive choice for those seeking a European-inspired ride experience at an affordable price. Tralongo pointed out that the Jetta’s redesigned exterior and interior make it an even more appealing option for those searching for a sedan. Not to mention, it includes a great lineup of safety features and starts at a lower starting price than the 2024 Jetta.
“Volkswagen pulled off a neat trick this year, offering the base S trim at a lower price than last year but with more standard equipment,” said Tralongo. “The update helps the Jetta compete with the stylish Hyundai Elantra, lesser-equipped Toyota Corolla, and more expensive Honda Civic.”
He also highlights the spacious cabin, supportive seats, and modern technology. He specifically mentions the standard 8-inch touchscreen and enhanced driver-assist systems.
“The most significant improvements happen inside the Jetta’s roomy and refined cabin, which gets even better for 2025,” said Tralongo. “Overall, the interior space is generous, with rear legroom of 37.4 inches, which is comparable to the Honda Civic and Hyundai Elantra.”
He also commented on Jetta’s fun-to-drive nature, particularly with the GLI. Tralongo notes that with its strong fuel economy and top safety ratings, the Jetta is a solid pick, placing in the top 10 Best Compact Cars.

You can buy a plan when you first purchase or lease your car or anytime before your first scheduled maintenance. In some cases, you can even include the cost of the plan in your vehicle loan or lease.
Why Choose a Volkswagen Care Plan?
- Fixed Costs: When you prepay for maintenance, you lock in the price of parts and labor, so you don’t have to worry about prices going up over time.
- Expert Service: Your car will be serviced by Volkswagen-certified technicians who use genuine VW parts. This means your car gets the best possible care, which helps keep your car running smoothly.
- Convenience: With a prepaid plan, your maintenance is on autopilot. You don’t have to worry about when your next service is due or how much it will cost.
- Resale Value: Keeping up with regular maintenance helps maintain your car’s value. A vehicle with a complete service record is more appealing to buyers when you’re ready to sell.
In addition, all Volkswagen models from 2016 and newer come with 24-hour Roadside Assistance for three years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. This service includes free towing, battery jump-starts, flat tire assistance, and fuel delivery, ensuring you’re never stranded.

1974: Mk1- The Original Golf
Volkswagen was looking for a replacement for the beloved VW Beetle. Enter the Golf Mk 1. Launching this car was risky, showcasing a new direction for the company. This vehicle had a water-cooled, front-mounted engine as well as sharp yet disciplined lines. Though it was a work in progress, it set the foundation for what would come.
1975: Golf GTI’s Beginnings
Shortly after the Mk1’s release, two motor-race-loving VW employees—Anton Konrad, head of Volkswagen’s press office, and Alfons Löwenberg, a test engineer at the company—came together for a concept they coined the “Sport Golf”.
Their goal was to create an affordable, practical car with the attitude and capability of a pure race car. The two formed a secret group that worked to fine-tune the vehicle’s suspension, stiffness, and power. Customer research helped the team come up with the name “Golf Grand Tourer Injection” or “GTI” for short.
The GTI was revealed to the public in 1975 at Frankfurt’s International Motor Show. It had a fuel-injected, four-cylinder engine paired with a four-speed gearbox. It could go 0 to 62 mph in 10 seconds and hit a top speed of 113 mph. The company projected the car’s production to only 5,000 models, not anticipating how sensational this vehicle would become.
The GTI Mk1 ended production in 1983. By this point, the vehicle had sold over 450,000 models, a giant leap from the projected 5,000.
The latest Golf GTI Mk8 carries the legacy of its origins thanks to its sleek styling, superb handling, and bold expression. It starts at $31,965 and can be found at Crain VW of Fayetteville.

2002: Golf R- A New Era
For the last 24 years, the Golf R has presented itself as a beacon of performance and design. It set a new benchmark for compact cars, packed with an impressive V6 engine that generated around 236 pound-feet of torque. It offered an AWD variant that included a six-speed manual gearbox that allowed it to accelerate from 1 to 100 mph in 6.6 seconds. It also had a top speed of around 155 mph.

The Golf R is still kicking and is available now at Crain Volkswagen of Fayetteville! This latest version offers 315 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, promising drivers with a fast and fun drive. The DCC Adaptive Chassis Control provides peak handling and can get from 0 to 60 in just 4.5 seconds!
