VW Bus Day
June 2 marked the second annual International Volkswagen Bus Day, recognized by the National Day Calendar, and celebrates the worldwide love for old and new Volkswagen buses. Volkswagen announced its plans for the ID.Buzz on this day last year. This year, the manufacturer used this holiday to announce the ID.Buzz Custom Graphics Program and 3D configurator in collaboration with Wrapmate.

Wrapmate’s 3D Configurator Tool
The Wrapmate 3D premium tool lets future ID.Buzz owners dream up personalized car designs. Though it’s currently in beta, it harnesses Wrapmate’s experience with vehicle graphics and wraps.
“This program not only allows ID.Buzz owners to express their individual style but also enhances the overall ownership experience by offering a way to customize the look of these exceptional vehicles,” said CEO of Wrapmate, Chris Loar.
Starting in the fall of 2024, those who created or selected their Wrapmate custom graphics can order their designs online through Crain Volkswagen of Fayetteville.
“Volkswagen’s collaboration with Wrapmate allows us to offer our customers a creative platform to personalize their ID. Buzz with both new designs and those that offer a nod to the heritage of the Volkswagen brand,” said Robert Gal, Senior Manager, Volkswagen Accessories, Volkswagen of America.
About Wrapmate’s Custom Wraps
Custom graphics will be made with premium 3M vinyl, which provides vibrant color and optimizes durability. Wrapmade also has a large network of over 2,000 certified installers to ensure each installation is done expertly.
Special Releases
VW will also introduce special releases designed by artists and VW brand partners. The first available will be the “Love the Earth” design by Dr. Bob Hieronimus.
Love the Earth
In collaboration with Volkswagen to revisit his famed “Light Bus,” Hieronimus embraced the company’s move to electromobility and sustainability, values he’s championed for decades as an artist. Inspired by the eco-friendly ID. Buzz depicted with the message “Love the Earth” in 25 languages, including Māori and Navajo, representing a global call for unity. In spring 2023, this vision was brought to life through Volkswagen and Wrapmate’s custom graphics program. Showcasing the art on the ID. Buzz is a testament to environmental love and global harmony.

Volkswagen is making big changes to its lineup with the release of the ID.Buzz. This all-electric bus combines classic design with eco-friendly innovation, offering three-row seating with various configurations and unparalleled style. The ID.Buzz features a 91-kilowatt-hour battery, a 210 kW electric motor, and spacious dimensions (195 inches long, 75 inches wide, with a 128-inch wheelbase) to comfortably seat seven passengers. The interior blends modern and retro aesthetics with a clean white cabin, light brown paneling, ambient multicolored lighting, and a panoramic sunroof.
