The Volkswagen Care Program
The Volkswagen Care Program offers up to seven prepaid maintenance plans so that you can choose the plan that’s right for you. These seven plans are the Volkswagen Care Basic, the Volkswagen Care Extra, the Volkswagen Care Package 1, Package 2, Package 3, Package 4, and Package 5. It’s important to note that the Volkswagen Care Package 1 is only available to purchase at participating authorized Volkswagen dealerships.
If you’re certain you want a Volkswagen prepaid plan, you can go ahead and purchase it at the same time you buy or lease the vehicle; however, you have up until the first scheduled maintenance interval listed under the plan to actually purchase it. This gives you a little bit of time to come to a final decision.
In the event that you do decide to purchase a plan at the time of sale or lease, then you may be able to wrap the cost of the plan into your vehicle loan or lease, but you’ll need to check with your dealership or loan company first.

Specifics of a Volkswagen Care Prepaid Maintenance Plan
Each Volkswagen Care plan offers slightly different mileage intervals. The Volkswagen Care Basic Plan is available for 2016 models through 2019 models. It offers the 10,000-mile and 20,000-mile scheduled maintenance as mentioned in your Volkswagen’s maintenance guide. For 30,000-mile scheduled maintenance, you can purchase the Volkswagen Care Extra plan. It’s available for model years 2014 and newer.
The Volkswagen Care Packages 1 through 5 can also be purchased for model years 2014 and newer with the exception of the Volkswagen Routan. Each of these packages follows the recommended maintenance services varying from 30,000-mile intervals to 80,000-mile intervals, depending on the package you choose.
